Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Klevi ("Klevi", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects information when you use our website at klevi.ai and the Klevi desktop app for Mac and Windows, (together, the "Service").
The short version
- Your meetings, transcripts and notes stay on your device unless you choose otherwise.
- Your account, résumé profiles, story bank and preferences are stored on our servers so they follow you to every device. You can delete them anytime.
- Stripe handles payments. We never see or store your card number.
- We don't sell your information or use your meetings to train AI models.
1. Information we collect
Account information. Your email address, your name if you add one, your plan and Session passes, and the settings you choose. We don't use passwords.
Sign-in and devices. When you sign in, we email you a one-time code and link. We store them only in scrambled (hashed) form, and they expire after 15 minutes. For each device you're signed in on, we keep its name, its platform (for example, Mac or web) and when it was last active, so you can see and sign out your devices. We also use IP addresses, kept in hashed form, to protect sign-in against abuse.
Synced data. Your résumé profiles, story bank and preferences (such as your languages) are stored on our servers so they follow you across your devices. You can edit or delete them at any time, and they are deleted with your account.
Professional profile. If you add your résumé, we keep its text, the facts Klevi suggests from it (with the short quote each fact came from), which facts you confirmed or rejected, facts you add yourself, your Career Story Bank and your preferred answer method. A résumé you upload as a PDF is sent to our AI provider to read; we keep only its text, not the file. Nothing in your profile is shared with anyone else.
Meeting content. When you turn Klevi on, the app processes audio from your meetings and, if you use screen translation, the parts of your screen you ask it to read. To create captions, translations, notes, summaries and practice feedback ("Meeting Content"), this is sent to our AI providers for processing. The results, including your meetings, transcripts and notes, are stored on your device, not on our servers, unless you choose otherwise, for example by exporting or sharing them. Klevi only listens or reads your screen when you start it, and you can pause or stop it at any time.
Usage. How many minutes and features you've used, so we can apply your trial, plan and pass allowances. We count usage; we don't keep the content.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. For many purchases, Stripe's Link service acts as the merchant of record and handles checkout, taxes, receipts and payment support under its own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number. We receive limited details such as your plan, payment status and billing country.
Referrals and affiliates. If you joined through a friend's invite link or an affiliate link, we record that so we can give out rewards and commissions. If you apply to our affiliate program, we keep the details you send us, such as your name, email, website and audience.
Campaign links. Some creators share Klevi through tracking links we pay them for. When you open one, we count the visit using a one-way code made from your IP address and browser with a random value that we delete after two days, so it can't identify you or follow you over time. We don't store your IP address. If you sign up, we note which link you came from and whether you later bought a plan, so we can see how each campaign performed. Creators only ever see totals, never who you are.
Checkout reminders. If you start a checkout and don’t finish it, we note what you chose and may send you one reminder email about an hour later. We send at most one reminder a week, never after you pay, and every reminder has a link to turn them off.
Technical information. Basic data such as app version, operating system and crash reports, and short-lived server logs of requests and errors, so we can keep the Service working and improve it.
Messages to us. If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
2. Cookies and local storage
We keep this to what the Service needs. If you choose "Allow", we also load Google Ads conversion tracking, which uses Google cookies to tell us whether a visit from one of our Google ads led to a sign-up or purchase. If you choose "Only necessary", it never loads. We don't use any other advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.
- klevi_session keeps you signed in on the website. It lasts up to 30 days and is renewed while you use your account.
- klevi_consent remembers your cookie choice for 180 days, so we don't ask again on every visit.
- klevi_ref, klevi_via and klevi_cid remember the invite, affiliate or campaign link you arrived from, for 30 days, so the right person gets credit. We only set these if you choose "Allow". If you choose "Only necessary", the link only counts if you sign up during that visit.
- Your browser's local storage remembers small things, such as whether you're signed in and a plan you picked before signing in.
The first two are strictly necessary, so they don't need consent. You can change your choice any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
Analytics. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't store your IP address and doesn't follow you across other sites.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service: translation, notes, summaries, screen translation, live talking points, practice feedback, your professional profile and story drafts, and syncing across your devices.
- To run your account, sign you in, apply plan and pass allowances, process payments and send important service emails, such as sign-in codes and receipts.
- To give referral rewards and pay affiliate commissions.
- To keep the Service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To understand how features are used, using aggregated or de-identified data, so we can improve Klevi.
- To send product news if you choose to receive it. You can unsubscribe at any time.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your Meeting Content, résumé, profile or stories to train AI models.
- We do not treat a suggested fact about you as true until you confirm it.
- We do not join your calls as a bot or show anything to other participants.
5. Service providers
We use trusted providers acting on our behalf, and we share only what each one needs to do its job:
- Google, only if you allow cookies, to measure whether our Google ads lead to sign-ups and purchases (Google Ads conversion tracking).
- Cloudflare, to host the website, your account and synced data, keep short-lived server logs, and count visits with Web Analytics, which uses no cookies.
- Anthropic (Claude), to translate, answer questions, summarize, give practice feedback, suggest talking points, read your résumé and draft stories.
- Deepgram, to turn meeting and microphone audio into text for captions and practice.
- Stripe (including Link), to process card payments and handle taxes and receipts.
- PayPal, to process PayPal payments if you choose to pay that way.
- NOWPayments, to process cryptocurrency payments if you choose to pay that way.
- Resend, to send sign-in codes and other service emails.
Our AI providers may only use your content to provide the Service to you and may not use it to train their models.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy will continue to apply).
6. Recording and consent
Laws about recording and transcribing conversations differ by country and region. Some require everyone in a conversation to agree. You are responsible for telling participants and getting any consent required before using Klevi in a conversation.
7. How long we keep information
Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes. Device sessions end after 60 days without use, or when you sign out. Account information and synced data are kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your account, synced profiles, story bank, preferences, passes and sessions from our active systems right away, and from backups within 30 days. We keep limited payment and tax records where the law requires it. Meeting Content on your device stays under your control, and you can delete it in the app.
8. Your choices and rights
You can view and change your details, sign out devices and delete your account at any time from your account page. You can view, export or delete your notes and transcripts in the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete or move your personal information, or to object to certain uses. To make a request, email privacy@klevi.ai. We will respond within the time required by law.
9. Security
We protect information with measures such as encryption in transit and at rest, hashed sign-in codes and session tokens, access controls and regular reviews. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep your data safe and will notify you if a breach affects you as required by law.
10. International transfers
We and our providers may process information in countries other than your own. When we do, we use appropriate safeguards to protect it.
11. Children
Klevi is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
